First match, hip hop

 I have listened to many of these already but some are first timers. I really try not to judge an album on first listen but these two both hit me hard 

Eminem- The Eminem Show vs The Roots- Phrenology

I listened to The Roots first since I didn't know much about them. Blew me away. Loved it. Loved their mix of hip-hop with some rock and jazz fusion. Near the middle it got very experimental. Never thought I'd hear a 10 minute song on a rap album. 

Stand out tracks- Rock You, Sacrifice, Thought@work, The Seed 2.0

Next I went to Eminem. I really only know his radio hits, I don't listen to a lot of rap albums all the way through. Pleasantly surprised. Liked every track. I knew this was going to be a real hard choice. 

Stand Out Tracks- White America, Cleaning out my Closet, Say Goodbye Hollywood, Say what you say 

In the end, I went with Eminem. Some of the experimental stuff on Phrenology got a little boring for me. Maybe I just wasn't in the mood that day but I've tried again and it was eh. Overall I really liked both but Eminem moves on.
